Hmmmm
Well, I'm jealous of my sister. DH talks to her more than he talks me in a week! The dog gets more attention than I do. Yes, is a pity me day. I need it.

Friday at last
Well, Friday finally arrived safe and sound. Good thing, I'm tired to doing The Firm. The weekends are my days off.
Beautiful day here in New England, (finally) after all that rain and funny storms. I probably should have hung out laundry to save on the dryer. . . oh well. HA!
Squirrel-mania is finally abating. The last of the antibiotics is tomorrow. Got some new knitting books from the library, but I know I can't afford them, so I'll have to copy the patterns I like.

Another Thursday whipped by!
Well, it was a nice, quiet Thursday for once! My sister picked us up and we went for the weekly shopping trip to, yep, you guessed is, Wally world. She had a hard time finding a parking place, there was that many people there. Is this weekend a holiday I am unaware of, 'cause I'd really like to know! The inside was a nightmare! Not only are they remodeling the store, but even the employees have NO idea where anything is now located. Everyone is walking around directly in the middle of the now miniscule aisles with a dazed and confused look on their faces. I was one of them! Shopping carts stopped right in the center, totally blocking traffic! Man, I was sooo tired when we finally got out of there!
I needed to relax this afternoon after all that people stress.

More little troubles
So, today dawned mildly bright and sunny. Not too bad weatherwise. At least it was not so hot that the A/C units had to be turned on. As the morning progressed, the weather became more iffy. Oh, wait. I called my mother's house, and found out my sister had declared today Amish Day, so not electronics games, etc., were allowed (like video games, TV, radio or that sort of stuff). May I just say that, Boy! am I glad I don't live there!!!
Anyway, SonBoy and I got into my car and started off down the road. Now, yesterday, when I drove home, I heard this weird sound, almost like water drops boiling in a skillet. I thought it was just because some water had gotten on the engine whilst I was driving home. Uh uh, nope, we started down the street, and I STILL heard that noise. I stopped the car, and looked underneath. Some hunk of rusty metal was hanging down dragging on the road. Great! So I backed up into my drive, and call DH. I stayed home today, not quite knowing what the heck was with my car. Luckily, it was just some shield that had rusted off.
WE did get to play Rock Band 2, because we had the afternoon here. I bought some songs with my Wii points I got for my birthday. It was fun. And relaxing.

End of the day....
OK, it was a nasty rainy thunderstormy day today. I can take that. Oh, everyone, I'm sure, will be glad to know the squirrel was tested for rabies, and the result were negative. We sure were relieved.
Other than that, not much else happened. Sorry.
What a nite!
Well, last night, after dinner at my Mother's house, my sister was outside putting bird seed in the feeders. She saw a squirrel lying on the ground not moving. Thinking it was dead, or dying, she decided she would put it in a cardboard box. So, she picked it up and started petting it. This happened to be done with naked hands, no gloves, no nothing. (This sister has a germ fetish, she won't go 3 seconds without washing her hands, or wiping down door knobs or something. Why she even contemplated picking up a squirrel without gloves, I have no idea.) Suddenly, the squirrel had a last attempt and bit her on her finger, enough to make it bleed, and have an X-ray to see if it was broken. She went to the emergency room and had a Tetanus booster shot and antibiotics. They are also checking the squirrel (now having expired) for rabies, though squirrels don't carry rabies. Yes, indeed, it was a moment to remember. HA!
On a video game note, I did buy the MySims Racing for the Wii, which I think is a great game. 4 players can race, and there is a very long story mode for single players.

Ah too good to last
Well, we finally had the official 4th of July cookout. But, before we went to my sister's, we stopped at Target. Needed printer cartridges (2) and SonBoy wanted to get some Halo action figures. Well DH thought printer cartridges were WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I use draft whenever I print. Great start.
Then I fell UP the stairs cutting my shin and bruising my legs in 3 places. Should've known trouble was brewing. I went to turn the grill on, and it hardly did squat. After 1/2 hour, DH comes out and says "out of gas". Great. . why am I not surprised??? So, nephew had to go to my sister's in-law and borrow their gas tank.
Now, I start grilling. Working the kabobs, and doing hot dogs, but not to DH's standards. He had some snarky remark about how badly I was turning the kabobs, la la la. . . Regardless, he made my cry. No apology, just said "I'll go get your soda." OK, thanks, that'll just make up for everything.
Later, just as we were about to leave, my bro-in-law came home to try to finish the brakes on his car. Nope, DH had to help, it wouldn't come off. So, he managed to stay crabby all day. It was a joy. The weather was lovely, though. Perfect, actually, after all that rain we had.
Now time to enjoy Miss Marple on PBS Masterpiece. I'm looking forward to it!
